Eastern & Oriental Hotel ขึ้นชื่อว่าเป็นโรงแรมที่เก่าแก่และคลาสิคที่สุดในปีนัง เห็นในรูปแล้วรู้สึกว่าโอ๊ย สวยจัง อยากจะลองมานอนดูซักครั้งว่าจะฟินแค่ไหน
Eastern and Oriental Hotel, one of the most historic and luxurious hotels in Penang. The hotel I put on my ‘must visit’ list right after seeing pictures on the internet and I’m sure after reading this, it’ll be on yours too!
แล้ววันนี้ก็มีโอกาสได้มาพักที่นี่จริงๆซักที บรรยากาศในโรงแรมดีงามและละมุนไม่ต่างจากที่คิดไว้เลย เปิดประตูห้องนอนออกมาเจอวิวทะเลสุดลูกหูลูกตา ของตกแต่งห้องต่างๆก็สวยเก๋ มีกลิ่นอายความวินเทจอยู่ในทุกมุม ชอบตรงที่อยู่ในห้องแล้วได้ยินเสียงคลื่นกระทบฝั่งเบาๆ นอนหลับสบายแทบไม่อยากจะตื่นจริงๆ
อีกที่ที่ไม่ควรพลาดก็คือที่สระว่ายน้ำที่ชั้น 6 จะไปว่ายน้ำชิลๆ หรือนอนอ่านหนังสือจิบค็อกเทลตรงนี้ก็ได้ ลมดีมากๆ ในโรงแรมมีมุมสวยๆแอบอยู่เยอะเลยแหละ เดินเล่นแค่ในนี้ก็เพลินแล้ว ราคาต่อคืนแล้วแต่โปรโมชั่นในช่วงนั้นๆ ห้องที่เรานอนประมาณคืนละหมื่นกว่าบาท บรรยากาศโดยรวมก็สวยงามตามท้องเรื่อง ที่นี้มี 2 ตึกคือ Old wing กับ New wing เราเลือกนอน New wing เพราะชอบสไตล์ห้องมากกว่า ที่นี้มีมุมสวยๆเยอะ สวยตั้งแต่ก้าวเข้ามาเลย ไปดูความสวยงามของโรงแรมนี้พร้อมๆกันค่ะ
Finally I’ve got a chance to visit Penang and stay at the Eastern and Oriental Hotel. The atmosphere was excellent as expected, stylish and vintage decorations, and gorgeous seaview from the balcony. The calming sound of waves lapping on the shore was truly relaxing and made me sleep soundly. The infinity pool on the sixth floor terrace is an ultimate chill spot even you’re up for an afternoon swim or just want to chill out with your favorite book and refreshing cocktails. The hotel’s interior is also really beautiful.
The Eastern and Oriental Hotel is split into two main sections; the Heritage Wing (or the Old Wing), and the Victory Annexe (or the New Wing). I stayed in the New Wing as I like the more modern style yet it still retaining the heritage feel.

แค่ก้าวเข้าโรงแรมมาก็ต้องตะลึงกับความสวยงามของที่นี่ ไม่ว่าจะเป็นเฟอร์นิเจอร์และของประดับต่างๆ ให้อารมณ์เหมือนเราย้อนมาอยู่อีกยุคะนึงเลย ลิฟท์โบราณก็มี พนักงานบอกว่าความจริงลิฟท์นี้ยังใช้งานได้อยู่นะ แต่บางทีก็ค้างบ้านอะไรบ้าง 5555 เพื่อความปลอดภัยก็เลยงดใช้งานดีกว่า เนื่องจากหาอะไหล่โบราณและคนซ่อมลิฟน์นี้ไม่ได้แล้ว ก็เลยปล่อยเอาไว้ดูเป็นความทรงจำแบบนี้
Entering the hotel, I was mesmerized by the lavish interiors and antique luxury furniture. I felt as if was back in the 19th century, lol. Even the original gated lift is still in working order. But according to the staff, it was closed for safety.
Bedroom
ห้องนอนตกแต่งได้สวยงามลงตัวมากๆ โทนสีออกชมพูอมส้มๆ สีแปลกแต่สวย เฟอร์นิเจอร์ไม้โบราณทำให้รู้สึกอบอุ่น ทุกอย่างดูเข้ากันไปหมด ห้องกว้างขวาง ห้องน้ำก็กว้างตกแต่งด้วยกระเบื้องขาวดำสลับลายหมากรุก มีอ่างน้ำให้นอนแช่น้ำอุ่น มีอ่างล้างหน้าให้สองอ่าง ในห้องนอนมีทีวี มีโต๊ะทำงานให้ด้วย ตรงระเบียงก็สามารถเปิดออกไปดูวิวทะเล ตอนเช้าๆเปิดไปก็จะเห็นวิวพระอาทิตย์ขึ้นสวยงามที่สุด ที่ประทับใจที่สุดคือตอนก่อนนอนได้เสียงคลื่นกระทบฝั่งเบาๆคอยกล่อมให้หลับฝันดี
The room is charming, cozy, spacious, equipped with a flat-screen TV, reading desk and an armchair. Dark timber floors and furniture match perfectly with old-rose walls. The chessboard marble-tiled bathroom contained a free-standing tub, his and hers sinks and separate shower and toilets. The balcony offers a wonderful view of the sea and the sunrise. I really loved listening to the sound of the waves washing on the rocks while going to sleep.
Poolside Terrace
สระว่ายน้ำชั้น 6 สำหรับแขกที่มาพัก New Wing เท่านั้น ชอบว่ายน้ำที่นี่มากกกก คือไม่พลาดที่จะแวะมาทุกวัน อยู่ตรงนี้ลมจะโกรกๆ ยืนตรงขอบสระมองเห็นวิวทะเลสุดลูกหูลูกตา เห็นนกบินไปบินมา อากาศร้อนๆเปลี่ยนชุดว่ายน้ำโดดลงไปในสระรู้สึกสดชื่นดีงามมากๆ ตอนว่ายน้ำเล่นในสระนี้เป็นช่วงเวลาที่แฮ้ปปี้มากๆ ชิลๆเพลินๆ ตอนบ่ายเวลา 5-6 โมง มีอาหารทานเล่น เบียร์ ไวน์ และเครื่องดื่มต่างๆเสิร์ฟให้แขกที่มาพักฟรีๆด้วย
The infinity pool on the sixth floor terrace is exclusive for the New Wing guests only. I dropped by everyday during my stay not only for a nice dip but sometimes just to chill out and enjoy an amazing view. There were free drinks and snacks between 5-6 pm.

ห้องอาหารนี้อยู่ในโรงแรม Eastern and Oriental Hotel ตั้งชื่อว่า 1885 ตามปีที่โรงแรมนี้ได้ก่อตั้งขึ้น ถ้าใครมาเที่ยวปีนังแล้วอยากจะหาที่บรรยากาศดีๆ จิบชายามบ่ายล่ะก็ แนะนำให้มาที่1885 เลยค่ะ ช่วงเวลาของ Afternoon Tea จะอยู่ระหว่าง 2 โมง ถึง 5 โมงเย็น บรรยากาศภายในร้านสวยงาม เซตชาและขนมต่างๆถูดจัดมาให้ด้วยความบรรจง ทำให้ช่วงเวลาสั้นๆที่อยู่ที่นี่เป็นเวลาที่เพลิดเพลินกับความสวยงามกับบรรยากาศย้อนยุคแบบผู้ดีอังกฤษ ความละมุนของชาชั้นดี และความอร่อยกลมกลมของขนมหวานที่มาเสิร์ฟ
Named for the year the Eastern and Oriental Hotel was established, 1885 dining room not only offers fine dining but also serves traditional afternoon tea from 2-5 pm. The luxury interiors, fabulous choices of tea, and a plateful of various pastries were undeniably one of the best afternoon tea I’ve experienced.
Planters Lounge
ที่นี่เป็นเลาจน์สำหรับแขกที่มาพักที่ New wing เท่านั้น แล้วก็เป็นที่ๆเรามาทานอาหารเช้าทุกเช้า แค่ก้าวเข้ามาในนี้ก็รู้สึกได้ถึงความสวยงามแบบ Elegant เรียกได้ว่ามองไปทางไหนก็สวยทุกมุมจริงๆ แขกที่พัก New wing สามารถเลือกทางอาหารเช้าได้ 2 ที่ คือที่นี่ และที่ Sarkie
ข้อแตกต่างของสองที่นี้คือ ที่ Planters Lounge จะสำหรับแขกที่พักที่ตึกใหม่เท่านั้น แขกที่พักตึกเก่าไม่สามารถมาทานที่นี่ได้ อาหารมีให้เลือกน้อยกว่า แต่บรรยากาศสงบ และตกแต่งคลาสสิคกว่า ส่วนที่ Sarkie อาหารเช้าจะเยอะกว่ามากๆ แต่คนก็จะเยอะมากเช่นกัน ก็เลือกเอาตามความชอบเลยนะคะ แนะนำว่าถ้าใครเน้นกิน ให้ไป Sarkie ส่วนใครเน้นบรรยากาศให้มาที่ Planter Lounge สำหรับแขกที่อยากทางอาหารเย็น ทั้งสองที่ก็มีให้บริการด้วยเหมือนกันนะคะ
The Planters Lounge, also exclusive for the New Wing guests, is where the breakfast is served. The lounge is elegantly beautiful and peaceful though the choice of food is more limited than Sarkies which is open to all guests from both wings. However, a la carte dinner is served here for all guests.
Sarkies
ห้องอาหารนี้จะเป็นที่ๆแขกมาทานอาหารเช้า ส่วนกลางวันและเย็นจะเป็นบุฟเฟ่ต์ พนักงานบอกว่าบุฟเฟ่ที่นี่ค่อยข้างมีชื่อเลยทีเดียว นอกจากแขกที่มาพักที่โรงแรมแล้ว คนนอกก็ยังนิยมนัดเพื่อนฝูงมาทานบุฟเฟ่ที่นี่เหมือนกัน
Sarkies serves a buffet three times a day featuring wide range of local and international cuisines. As told by staff the lunch and dinner buffet here are also popular among locals as well.
